Investigators have released a video of two women robbing the clerk of a St. Charles Avenue hotel at gunpoint last week in hopes that the public can help identify them, New Orleans police said. In an unrelated case, another armed robbery was reported Tuesday night in the Broadmoor area.
In last week’s robbery, two armed women went into the Maison St. Charles Hotel and Suites in the 1300 block of St. Charles around 1:30 a.m. Sept. 30, took the hotel’s cash and left, according to the initial police report. Detectives do not believe the robbery was an inside job, NOPD Sgt. Daniel Scanlan said at the weekly meeting of the Sixth District leadership. In a separate case, a man in his 30s was in the 3200 block of Louisiana Avenue Parkway (about a block off South Claiborne) around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday when two men approached from behind, the report states. One of the men had a chrome semiautomatic handgun, and they took the victim’s blue corduroy pants that had a iPhone 5 in one of the pockets, the report states.
Anyone with information in either case is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 or the NOPD Sixth District at 658-6060.
