New Orleans Police recently recovered a stolen, high-end racing bicycle but have been unable to track down its original owner to return it, they said Wednesday.
Police were conducting an unrelated investigation near Martin Luther King Boulevard and South Claiborne Avenue recently when they recovered the stolen bicycle, a Specialized TriCross Comp that retails for just shy of $2,000, reported NOPD Sgt. Gary Calico at the Sixth District’s weekly meeting of ranking officers.
Officers called a number of local bicycle retailers, but none were aware of a customer who’d lost that model, Calico said. But the rightful owner will have ample documentation of their purchase of such a high-end bike, Calico said, and anyone who can help find the person is urged to call the Sixth District at 504-658-6060.
