HiVolt Coffee has opened its highly anticipated “third-wave” coffee shop in the Lower Garden District, a Baton Rouge food truck operator is planning to open a shop on St. Charles Avenue and NOLA Brewing has opened its taproom to the public.

Hivolt Coffee, which owner Benji Lee of The Saint bar characterized to enthusiastic neighbors as part of a new national interest in artisanal coffee, is now open with healthy breakfast and lunch options, according to a report by Gwendolyn Knapp of Eater NOLA. “The build out is a beauty,” Knapp writes.

Dolce Vita Wood Fired Pizzeria, a new project by Baton Rouge food truck operator Bogdan Macanu, is slated for 1205 St. Charles Avenue this fall, notes Ian McNulty of The Advocate in an article about the city’s pizza scene.

Finally, the NOLA Brewing factory in the Irish Channel has opened its taproom to the public on weekday afternoons and on weekends, according to a report by Richard Carman of NOLA Defender.
