The four cases were as follows, according to a series of reports from the NOPD’s Uptown-based Second District:
- Based on a complaint of drug activity at 2515 Milan Street, narcotics detectives were watching the residence on Tuesday when they saw what appeared to be a drug sale, the report states. They stopped a white Nissan being driven by 31-year-old Stephen Minor as it left the home, and found “a bag of marijuana, one bag containing powder cocaine (2.2 grams), one bag containing fourteen individually wrapped bags that contained crack cocaine (5.90 grams), and one bag containing several loose pieces of crack cocaine,” the report states. “Minor was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of crack cocaine and powder cocaine with the intent to distribute.”
The detectives then searched the home and found “a large bag of marijuana, a bag containing nineteen individually wrapped bags of marijuana (19.60 grams), and a .22 caliber Marlin rifle,” the report states. Lester Carter, 26, was inside and “was arrested for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm with narcotics present, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.”
- The same day, around 11 a.m., narcotics detectives stopped a vehicle at Fern and Oleander and found a 9-mm Glock semi-automatic handgun that was reported as stolen. The driver, 23-year-old Morris Porche, was charged with possession of stolen property.
- Shortly after the Gert Town stop, the narcotics investigators were flagged down in the 8200 block of Stroelitz Street about a domestic assault and saw the alleged aggressor, 33-year-old Ricky Wesley, taking a gun out of his waistband and putting it in a parked vehicle. Wesley was arrested on charges of domestic aggravated assault, domestic battery, possession of a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of stolen property.
- The following day, the narcotics unit investigated a home at 8504 Palmetto Street, where detectives were given voluntary consent to search, the report states. “The contraband confiscated from the residence consisted of 146.5 grams of Marijuana divided in four bags, 19.0 grams of Marijuana in one bag, 14.9 grams of Marijuana in one bag, one water pipe, one AIG 7.62 mm assault rifle with loaded 30 round magazine, 56 alprazolam (prescription Xanax) in prescription bottle, and one black scale,” the report states.
