Around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the 2900 block of Amelia Street about two people firing at each other, and shortly afterward were informed that a shooting victim with wounds in his chest and arm showed up at the hospital, according to a NOPD report. The victim was initially uncooperative with police, but later told them that an unknown man got into his vehicle and shot him, the report states.
The victim also said he was able to get the gun away from his attacker, the report states. Detectives obtained a search warrant and found a 9-mm handgun with three live rounds, one casing and a small amount of crack cocaine, the report states. The gun was later determined to have been stolen out of Jefferson Parish.
Around 10 p.m. Saturday, some house-sitters showed up at a home in the 8100 block of Apple Street, and a neighbor approached and asked what they were doing, according to a separate NOPD report. After they explained, the neighbor left and then returned with a rifle and handgun, yelling and firing three shots into the ground, and then hit one of the house-sitters several times before leaving, the report states.
The neighbor was identified as 21-year-old Bourgess Lindsey, and warrants for his arrest have been issued on charges of aggravated assault, second-degree battery and illegal discharge of a firearm, the report states.
Argument on Clara
On Friday evening, a man went to the 4900 block of Clara Street to pick up his son, but got into an argument with 41-year-old Dililah Pollard, according to the report. When the man asked for his son’s cell phone, Dililah Pollard threw it to the ground and stepped on it, the report states. The man then started to leave, but 21-year-old Demounde Pollard stepped out from behind a car and pointed a gun at the man, who then got into his car and left, the report states.
Demounde Pollard is wanted on a charge of aggravated assault, and his mother, Dililah Pollard, is wanted on a charge of simple criminal damage.
