  1. this came out the same time the nopd was in my neighborhood apprehending two juveniles ransacking cars…it is just crazy..

  2. obviously, we need more midnight basketball……

  3. Did robber use a gun, knife or banana? More details please if possible. Thanks.

    • David, does it matter??

      • Sometimes re police stats on what crime was actually comitted, e.g. armed robbery vs. simple robbery, as set forth in Times Pic Sunday and Owen’s column today.

        • David, with the new information how should it be classified? Would it be different if he had used a knife?

          • No: Simple robbery

            A. Simple robbery is the taking of anything of
value belonging to another from the person of another or that is in the
immediate control of another, by use of force or intimidation, but not armed
            with a dangerous weapon.

            B. Whoever commits the crime of simple robbery
shall be fined not more than three thousand dollars, imprisoned with or without
hard labor for not more than seven years, or both.

            Acts 1983, No. 70, §1.

    • it clearly says a sliver and black semi-automatic pistol

  4. You just can’t say anything about black people, or they will not post your comment.

  5. Let the hot summer begin. Panhandler on Carondelet last night nearly attacked my pregnant wife. As I’m rushing her away and getting screamed at, the NOPD officer on the corner yacks away on her cell phone.

  6. Perhaps it does not matter but I do not believe that the 7700 block of Burthe nor the 7400 block of Hampson are in the Riverbend. Riverbend is a small section that runs from Carrollton to Leake to Oak Street and, I think the parish line. Nonetheless the crime is horrifying and I am very careful if I go out after dark. And to the other posters who keep bringing in skin color it is the action of the perpetrator that does matter, not ethnicity.

  7. Folks, get a gun, get training and get a concealed carry permit.
