LaToya Cantrell
The revitalization of the Broad Street corridor was a key component of Cantrell’s election campaign, and she pledges to work to eliminate the excessive loitering outside the Cajun Express store.
Cantrell’s statement follows in full:
“It is time that we make the 4100 block of Washington Avenue safe for the residents who live along this commercial corridor. After yesterday’s shooting, this stretch of roadway is now home to three murders in less than two years. We are experiencing far too many unnecessary deaths and I urge the residents of this community to work with me in eliminating what was become a public nuisance in the form of crime and excessive loitering outside of Cajun Express. In the interim, I encourage area residents to contact Crimestoppers to anonymously report criminal activity at 1-877-903-STOP. Together, we can solve this and make our community safer.”
