A 24-year-old man was shot to death Sunday evening on South Galvez Street in the Hoffman Triangle area of Central City, authorities said.
The victim — whose name has not yet been released — was found with multiple gunshot wounds lying in the street in the 2500 block of South Galvez around 8:30 p.m., according to a NOPD news release. He was declared dead on scene.
NOPD Detective Andrew Packer of the Homicide unit is leading the investigation and can be reached at 658-5300. Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
About half an hour after the South Galvez shooting, another man was shot in the face on Martin Luther King Boulevard near Freret, according to our partners at WWL-TV. That man’s injuries are not expected to be fatal, WWL is reporting.
