A couple who police say worked together to rob a woman walking on South Claiborne Avenue last weekend were caught in several surveillance images, and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

The victim was walking in the neutral ground on South Claiborne near Delachaise around 10 p.m. Sunday, police say, when she was approached by a woman who began to distract her. A man then hit the victim in the face with his elbow, breaking her nose and knocking her to the ground, and then took her backpack, according to a NOPD news release. The man and woman then left on foot, police say.

Police have since obtained photos of the two. Anyone who can identify them is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
