Residents of the Fontainebleau-area who want to create a “Little Free Library” in the neighborhood are holding a fundraiser called “A Book, a Buck or Both” on Saturday afternoon.

Organizers are seeking the donation of money to help purchase a Little Free Library for installation in the neighborhood, and for books to stock it with. The fundraiser will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at First Cup Cafe at 3146A Calhoun Street.

  1. What a great idea! I can’t come tomorrow afternoon but I will drop a donation today!

  2. where can I donate books? We have many we’d like to donate.

  3. Thanks for the mention! The “Book, Buck or Both” event went well, but we’re still rounding up contributions to reach our modest kick-off goal.

Monetary donations should be directed to veronica@statestreetdrive.com … Looking for where to deposit/borrow books? Check out the map on http://www.littlefreelibrary.org/

Excess books can also be dropped off at any New Orleans Public Library, or the Symphony Book Sale repository located on Oak Street.
