Dr. Michael White and the Original Liberty Jazz Band will perform their annual jazz worship service Sunday morning at St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church, joined this year by the two other congregations that share the building, Redeemer Presbyterian and St. Stephen’s Anglican.
Described as a “traditional Sunday service where music will play a significant role in enlivening and enhancing our worship,” it begins at 9 a.m. at St. Charles Avenue Baptist, 7100 St. Charles, and a significant crowd is expected.
“This year we are jointly sponsoring the service with our in-house sister churches, Redeemer Presbyterian and St. Stephen’s Anglican. Ministers from all three churches will be participating in the service,” according to the St. Charles Avenue Baptist weekly newsletter. “We might well have 500 persons in attendance. It will be a great service with our own churches and the large number of guests we always have. Come early and bring king cakes to share in the reception afterwards.”
