John Byrnes was last seen Tuesday morning in the 3000 block of LaSalle Street, leaving a residential facility for his daily walk, police said in the following news release:
Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating 43-year-old John Byrnes, who was last seen on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at about 9:00A.M., in the 3000 block of LaSalle Street.Byrnes left his residential facility around 9am Tuesday morning to go for a walk, which is not uncommon for him. According to the residential staff, Byrnes always returns home after going for a walk. This is the first time he has gone missing and has not been seen or heard from. Byrnes suffers from a mental disorder and may be in need of his medication. Family members describe him as a very friendly person.
John Byrnes is described as a White Male, 6’03” tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds. Byrnes was last seen wearing a blue shirt with a white t-shirt underneath, beige pants, black tennis shoes.
Mr. Byrnes frequents the public library on Loyola Avenue downtown and he typically carries a book with him.
Lawanda Long left her home in the 2400 block of Jackson Avenue a month ago, and while her mother said she is a “habitual runaway,” she became concerned when she was unable to contact her, authorities said.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 16-year-old Lawanda Long, who was last seen by her mother on Sunday January 20, 2013 leaving their home in the 2400 block of Jackson Avenue at approximately 7:30 A.M.Her mother advised that he daughter, Lawanda Long is a Habitual Runaway and became concerned when she was unable to contact her and has not seen or heard from her since.
Lawanda Long is described as an African-American female with black shoulder length tracked hairstyle and is approximately 5’5” tall and about 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing black tights style pants and a light blue shirt. She has tattoos on her left and right hand.
