A new Creole restaurant has opened on Magazine Street; a Louisiana seafood restaurant is slated to open just down the street this spring; a bakery and coffee shop has opened on Prytania Street; and Cafe Reconcile on O.C. Haley Boulevard plans to reopen after renovations this month.
Among the new dining options:
- N’awlin’s Jazz Café has opened in the former C’est La Vie space at 4206 Magazine St., run by a couple who have a shop in the French Market, according to a report by Susan Langenhennig of The Times-Picayune.
- Manhattanjack bakery and coffeeshop held its grand opening at 4930 Prytania St. this week, according to an item in the Gambit.
- Café Reconcile will have more seats and a dramatically updated kitchen for the students who work there when its reopens in time for the Super Bowl, reports Ian McNulty, also in Gambit.
- Finally, Basin Seafood and Spirits is a new project planned by the owners of Baru for the former Rocky’s Pizzeria space at 3222 Magazine, with hopes of opening before Jazz Fest, Langenhennig notes in another report.
