With the lease for Morris Jeff Community School’s Poydras Street location ending at the end of the school year — but its new South Lopez Street building not expected to be ready until 2014 — the school is looking for a temporary solution next year that could include Uptown options, according to a report by Della Hasselle of the Charter School Reporting Corps at The Lens. The school may try to stay on Poydras Street for one more year, but house its youngest students at Holy Rosary Academy on Freret at Jena, or it may relocate temporarily to the James Weldon Johnson campus in west Carrollton that is currently planned to become swing space, but no decision has been made, the report states.
