The location of the robbery in Hollygrove (via NOPD)

A corner store on Eagle Street near Earhart Boulevard was robbed at gunpoint on Christmas Eve, and in a separate case a man was wounded in a shooting on Louisiana Avenue the same afternoon, according to initial police reports.

In the Hollygrove case, two men walked into the J&P Superette at 2941 Eagle Street around 4:15 p.m. and bought some chips, the initial police report states. One of the men then walked behind the counter and put a gun to the cashier’s head, while the other took money out of the cash registers, the report states. The two robbers then left the store on foot, the report states.

In the shooting case, a man was walking in the 2600 block of Louisiana Avenue (between South Robertson and Magnolia) just before 3 p.m. when he heard gunshots nearby, and realized he’d been hit in the thigh, according to the initial police report. Two vehicles were also damaged by gunshots, the report states.
