Tulane University began driving test pilings this month to begin the 18-month construction of a new Zimple House dormitory for 256 students at Broadway and Zimpel streets.
The idea for the building dates back to the original 1912 plan for the campus, the university architect told New Wave, the university news service. The building will have a “modern aesthetic [that] will nod to its historic setting,” the New Wave report states.
