Stacy Head

Whom Stacy Head might endorse in the race for her former District B seat on the City Council seat is among the most frequent conversation topics for those watching the race, but the councilwoman currently plans not to get involved, she said through a spokeswoman Tuesday afternoon.

In the spring of 2010, Head won re-election to her District B seat with 67 percent of the vote, and her popularity among neighborhood groups is still evident with every candidates’ forum. Head’s attentiveness to quality-of-life complaints — particularly those that involve problem properties or blighted buildings — set a new standard for neighborhood involvement by a city council member, community groups frequently tell the four candidates who aspire to fill her shoes.

Head knows each of the candidates personally (including, of course, her former chief of staff Eric Strachan), acknowledged Danielle Viguerie, the councilwoman’s spokeswoman. However, at this point — despite the rumors and speculation — Head has made no endorsement in the District B race and does not intend to, Viguerie said.
