Falling temperatures didn’t deter strong crowds of parade-goers Saturday night from seeing the krewes of Sparta and Pygmalion bring their animal- and game-themed floats through Uptown New Orleans.

Sparta’s 18-float parade was themed “Le Carnavaux des Animaux.” Pygmalion’s 18 floats were themed “The Name of the Game is…” and also featured a new “Pygmammoth” float that lent its image to plush toys and medallions.

  1. Great pix as usual! Thanks for featuring us!

  2. The Sparta maid is gorgeous! Her eyes and face express the true joy of Carnival! Great picture!

  3. Great pictures, but I wish there was more!!!!!!!! I noticed that someone tweeted during the parade that the only mystery throw from Sparta was medallion beads, but that’s not true. The mystery throw was four different stuffed animals that said Sparta on them: a frog, a monkey, a hippo, and an elephant.
