Campus police are awaiting test results on “three anonymous reports of drugged drinks at local bars within three weeks of each other in late October,” according to The Tulane Hullabaloo student newspaper.

  1. Why are the names of the bars not mentioned??? Why protect the bars instead of the customers?

  2. Umm, if you read the Hullabaloo article, it refers to TUPD mentioning that the drug being used was “Rufilin”. Isn’t that a made-up drug from the movie the Hangover? If the TUPD member was quoted correctly, I’m truly appalled.

    • Seriously? Do a quick google search for “rufilin wiki” and you will learn that rufilin, aka, rohypnol, flunitrazepam, date-rape drug, ruffies, roofies, etc. is anything but a made up drug….

  3. Rufilin is slang – the word was made up so that the Hangover people didn’t have any legal troubles with Roche by using their brand name (Rohypnol). The police should know the difference and be using the name for the real drug. And if you truly thought thay my comment was stating that I discounted the existence of “date rape drugs” rather than the name being used, I am, again, appalled at the state of discourse in NOLA.
