Detectives have deemed the report of an armed robbery at Marengo and Perrier that they received early Sunday morning as “unfounded” after being unable to reach the victims to continue the investigation, police said.

“The reporting persons could not be located after several attempts by both platoon patrol and DIU,” according to a news release from the NOPD Second District on Monday. “As for now, it has to be marked up unfounded until the reporting persons can be reached.”

  • Kareena

This is Monday, and they gave up already?
Also, I think this is worded incorrectly:
“Detectives have deemed the report of an armed robbery at Marengo and Perrier that they received early Sunday morning as “unfounded” after being unwilling to reach the victims to continue the investigation, police said.”
From this it seems as thought the detectives are unwilling to to reach the victims to further investigate.
But then, and I AM being a smarty pants here, if they are unwilling to reach the victims, then giving up so soon would go along with that.

    • Yeah, you right. I changed it to “unable,” obviously a much better word under the circumstances. Thanks for the catch.
