Health Commissioner Dr. Karen DeSalvo and New Orleans paramedics talk to people outside the the Edna Pillsbury Health Clinic in Central City Thursday afternoon. An ounce of formocresol, used for root canals, was spilled inside the clinic, forcing its evacuation. Formocresol can irritate the skin and eyes. Three employees were exposed to the formocresol and were treated, DeSalvo said. The clinic was closed Thursday for decontamination, but is expected to reopen Monday.
