Attendees of "Gabrielle in Purgatory" enjoy a five course meal, which featured several of the signature dishes from The Gabrielle. Each course was paired with wines to match. The event was hosted by Vintage Orleans at The Uptowner at 438 Henry Clay Avenue. Greg and Mary Sonnier lost their Mid-City restaurant, The Gabrielle after Hurricane Katrina and have sense fought unsuccessfully to open the restaurant fulltime at the Uptowner. I used to eat there once a week and if my wife was gone four times a week," said Dr. John Yarborough, whose daughter is having her wedding reception at the Uptowner next month."It makes me sick that these people around here won't let it reopen."
